3) The seller accepts the buyer's request to live chat and they have a conversation for as long as they both wish
4) Once both the seller and buyer are comfortable to attend the event with each other, they both separately accept or decline
5) The buyer proceeds to the payment page where funds are held with Takemyspare until 24 hours after the event. If the ticket is free, no payment is required
6) The buyer and seller arrange a meeting point and then enjoy the live event together

For Takemyspare Dates, you can message users once you have mutually liked each other. You can like a user on their profile page or on the people search page. You can also message a user if they have listed a spare ticket which you like the look of.
For Takemyspare Mates, you can request a spare ticket from any seller and you will be able to send them an initial message, however, it is up to the seller if they open up the chat to you for a further conversation.

Yes, you can suggest your spare. Just go to the specific user’s profile and under ‘Suggest my spare’ select your spare ticket. The other user will be notified and can apply for your spare ticket if they like the sound of it!

Yes, it is very simple and we encourage it if you think there is something wrong or needs investigating. On the user profile page there is a red button where you can report their profile.

Different people are looking for different things, and we have created two marketplaces Takemyspare Mates and Takemyspare Dates to allow for that. If you just fancy a new friend outside of your current circle to go to the football or a gig with, check out Takemyspare Mates. If you are looking for something a bit more over some live music or theatre, then switch over to Takemyspare Dates.

Yes, if you have mutual friends with another user, they will show up on their profile page under ‘Mutual friends’. If you don’t have any, nothing will show.

If you buy a ticket, we’ll collect a service fee of 10% on the ticket sale. If you buy a ticket for free, there is no service fee. Our fees help us maintain a safe, secure place for users to find people to go to events with. We’ll act this fee automatically at the payment stage.

As a seller, you can choose whatever price you wish. We strongly discourage inflating prices above the face value though – don’t forget, you will be spending quite a bit of time with your buyer at the event!

If the event is postponed, the seller should let the buyer know directly of the next steps. If the buyer is due a refund, then Takemyspare will return the money back to the buyer directly and the seller should apply for the refund directly from the ticket supplier.

Whilst we cannot stop all touts from accessing our website, the Takemyspare service is designed in such a way that touts cannot properly operate. A tout often sells multiple tickets to an event and does not physically attend the event themselves – Takemyspare requires the sellers to attend, if they don’t they should be reported by the buyers and will be removed from the site.

For Takemyspare Mates, we want to promote our most credible users, so if you attend 3 or more events in a friendly takemyspare way, you will automatically get a lovely credible green tick on your profile.
For Takemyspare Dates, there is no credibility rating - don't worry!

Unfortunately, yes! If you do something naughty, like a no-show or misrepresent the ticket you are selling, you will lose this rating.

Just edit your profile on the dashboard – you can change your profile picture or cover photo there

You can add a few, so a nice selection! You should add a picture that clearly shows your face – it will make it a lot easier to find you on that first meet up.
